Taking the first step…….

“I need to lose weight!” this resolve is the first step towards weight loss. In case you do not have a anorexia or any such psychological disorder, if you feel you need to lose weight then you probably have a higher than average weight. But first and foremost things no one “NEEDS” to lose weight unless and until it is a medical emergency so you “Want” to lose weight not “Need” to lose weight.

Having established this thereby confirming that it is a desired state that is envisaged by you, let me give you another perspective.

“How much weight to lose?”, “What is the should aim for?”——— ideal weight one important questions, yes. but they have a very simple and straightforward answers.

Set a goal to be your realistic weight, don’t set-in an aim for losing 15 kgs- 20kgs without understanding your body, age, gender, lifestyle and the current state of health of your body. An unattainable goal or an unrealistic  expectation would only pull you down and weaken your resolve.

It will not happen overnight, you need to understand it. The weight got piled on in years, it cannot get washed off in minutes. There is no magic cure. No magic diet, no hocus pocus, No pills, No potion nothing. A consistent effort is the only way to get the weight in check and keep it there.

Any diet, any pill any option which promises an instant or accelerated weight gain can be harmful to your body and detrimental to your overall wellbeing. it may not be permanent and may come back the moment you stop its use. Is this your desired state??? if not, chuck all this and focus on attaining your health back the right way through proper  eating and exercise.

Great! so fat utilization and weight loss, wow! But  what happens when you start eating normal food? Besides becoming deficient in minerals and vitamins by following a fad diet, you have also conditioned your brain to think that there is no food and the body has to sustain itself on its reserves, so what happens? The moment you resume eating, body immediately goes into a self conservation mode thereby converting most of your calories as fat to be used in future as a back up.

So, the Result! FAT stores are replenished rather may even get augmented, important vitamins and minerals become deficient and your are back to square one with a deflated self esteem and a broken spirit.
